A customer called in to finish paying her balance by credit card.  She wanted to also say how she felt about the installation.  She spoke with GPB, Inc. about how very happy she and her husband were with the installation.

At the time she called in, Friday 7.9.10, the crew was there and were almost finished installing.  Our customer was gushing with thankfulness.  She said the carport looks great, what an excellent job was done, and she was so happy because the carport was installed promptly.  The customers even gave a $60 tip to the crew for carrying materials to the back of the property, as there was no room for the delivery truck to pull in as it normally would have done for the customers.

All around, this was a very successful transaction and we are quite happy when things work out so nicely for our customers, crew and all involved.  Thanks to GPB, Inc. and everyone.

Hope you got the message I left for you after our building was delivered on April 6th to North Carolina, but am also writing to ensure that you did with this email. First of all, sorry for the delay as we don’t have internet service in the rural hills of Lincolnton and just returned to Florida after many weeks in the foothills.

GPB, INC. delivered on their promise on our order from the beginning to the end thanks to your help, expertise and knowledge. The delivery was right on schedule. Your son seems so much like you and the driver…oh SO nice to see a company care about their transports appearance also, it makes a huge impression in my opinion. Although we had a pretty easy location for set up, these guys have obviously been doing this awhile…tug, pull, level–done!

I am extremely happy and excited about our (mine more than anyone else!) new building. It turned out to be more than I expected. Our design of the building with the slider and skylights really added to the flare of the building and puts me in touch with all my local surroundings. The white aluminum interior was totally unexpected and absolutely makes the building more comfortable to be in and provides that cooling effect. We put down pre-fab faux brick panels for the flooring and it turned out very rustic and charming (although you can’t see much of it for all the furniture, except for the path).

This building will provide the insipiration and creativity for the many projects that I have in mind and will become a foundation for our new Carolina barn home. Thank you so much.

After almost 50 years in business, Chattanooga-based steel drafting company Ted S. Duggan & Sons Inc. closed its doors last week. Don Duggan, the firm’s president, blamed the worst time he had ever seen in the steel fabrication industry.  “We’ve closed because of the rotten economy,” Mr. Duggan said. “This industry there is just nothing out there anymore.” The firm had 16 employees.  Over the past five decades, the firm provided drafting services for projects around the world, including the Omni Hotel in Atlanta, the Opryland Civic Center, the last skyboxes at the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium and a number of other projects that shaped the skylines of such cities as New York, Chicago, Boston and Dallas.

Work ethics require personal choices to be made; will I or will I not stay with a company?  Will I move to this other company that seems to be doing better or will I stay loyal to the company I have been with?  Will I keep my business afloat or go for that comfortable loan?

Each individual should carefully evaluate his/her individual options before making a personal decision. Checking your options (by doing your homework on purchasing a steel building for instance) is a good idea and is always something I recommend doing.  The above goes to show that even after 50 years in business, a company can go out of business and be gone with the economy the way it is.  Ask yourself, had you ever heard of this company before?  Could it happen to you?

Japanese mills will send officials to miners for preliminary talks this week, said the source, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the issue.

The price talks on term supply for the business year from next April usually start in November in Japan, but have been substantially delayed this year as the steel market has tumbled amid a downturn in the global economy, making demand estimates difficult for both mills and miners.

Japanese steelmakers are expected to call for what would be the first cut in annual prices in seven years amid faltering demand and cutbacks in output, as well as expected strong pressure from Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) and other carmakers for prices to be slashed on automotive sheet steel, their mainstay product.

Expectations for a steel recovery have gathered momentum in recent weeks as global output cuts tightened market conditions and forced buyers with low inventories to accept price hikes by some producers. [nSEO50718].

In 2008 price talks, Vale negotiated its price first and secured a 65 percent increase from Japanese mills. But Australian producers who settled later managed a nearly 80 percent increase. (Reporting by Yuko Inoue; Editing by Michael Watson)

What is the effect on our economy today? What will change when the price from steel negotiation takes effect?

We know that the price of steel has changed in the past. We also know this economy has changed in the recent past, for the worse. Those in the steel industry can be sure that with steel prices headed the way they are, this cannot be a good thing for their product. The change also does not necessarily mean a good thing for the consumer either.

With iron ore price talks set to start, one thing is for certain, someone will feel the pinch and many will feel the effect.

A steel carport could be used to house a bus depot area, for bus gas pumps, for housing dumpsters, or employee parking.

Many times educational or school areas need large covered facilities in order to carry on their functions properly.

Even having a covered area of a playground with a metal cover is a nice option for some in the education or school field.  Many color options are available as well.  Metal covers are a cost-effective way of staying dry, out of the wind, and covered during recess or after school activities or out on the playground.  Many sizes are available.  Many people are not aware that the ports can be installed on uneven areas or unlevel ground as well.

Any steel car ports you need to view should be available to residences and businesses nationwide. You should be able to find out where your steel carport can be delivered and set up, right from the internet, at any time.

Steel car ports for sale come should standard with the top and then, at the option of the purchaser, the sides and/or ends can be closed partially or enclosed completely. Yes, you can if you wish completely enclose your carport.

Steel carports should available in 12 gauge or 14 gauge steel framing . Carports be moved at a later date making them portable.  Many colors should also be available.

For those applications such as high wind or snow load, certification may be required and a permit may need to be acquired.  You local authorities may need to be contacted in order to complete the task.  Time may not be on your side, in your opinion, so allow extra time when you plan for a steel carport.
