Steel Prices Going Up

The latest thing on the horizon for steel is the rise in steel prices.  It seems 2008 will see a continued surge for steel cost.

Prices versus demand is a point some in the steel industry are interested in.

“There have been some announcements that prices would increase by at least 30%…” Michel Wurth, head of ArcelorMittal’s flat steel products in Europe, said.

Steel prices have gone up since the end of last year by 38% and there continues to be a rise in the cost of steel.

The future holds a promise for rising cost, with a push on wait-and-see.
